What are disbursements really?

Updated: Sep 6, 2023

For our lawyer to close your real estate transaction, charges are paid by our firm on your behalf, called disbursements. Some common disbursements in a residential real estate purchase include land transfer tax, title insurance, title and execution searches, couriers, software charges, registration fees, bank charges, general office expenses such as photocopies, faxes, and prints.

Law firms provide approximations for disbursements as actual amounts are calculated on the day of closing. Our firm has the experience and knowledge to ensure an efficient and cost-effective closing. If you have any questions regarding disbursements or any matter in relation to your real estate transaction, contact our firm to receive your free quote.
