Our legal fees start at $799 for refinancing, $899 for sale closings, and $999 for purchase closings. These are flat-rate fees, so you know exactly what to expect. Additional disbursements (title insurance, registration fees, etc.) and HST apply separately.
How long does the closing process take?
Typically, we begin work 2-4 weeks before your closing date. However, we can accommodate rush closings when necessary. The actual signing appointment usually takes 30-60 minutes, and we handle all post-closing registration immediately.
What is title insurance and do I need it?
Title insurance protects you against losses from title defects, survey issues, fraud, and other covered risks. While not legally required, we strongly recommend it for all purchases. It's a one-time premium that provides lifetime protection.
What documents do I need to bring to closing?
You'll need valid government-issued photo ID (driver's license or passport), void cheque for mortgage purposes, and proof of homeowner's insurance. We'll provide you with a complete checklist specific to your transaction well in advance.
What does a real estate lawyer do at closing?
